Jeff Daniels

Blessed with Middle American good looks and regular-guy earnestness, Jeff Daniels has been the go-to actor for playing everyday schmoes, weasels, and borderline nitwits in classic films like Terms Of Endearment, Something Wild, and The Squid And The Whale. Off-screen, Daniels makes his home in the least Hollywood place imaginable: Chelsea, Michigan, where he runs the Purple Rose Theatre Company. Daniels also dabbles in music, turning out funny folk songs and performing low-key tours in small clubs and theaters, where he sells CDs that benefit the Purple Rose. Daniels’ casual and humble approach to his music melts away all of the usual “movie star goes rock star” skepticism, which makes his concerts as endearing as his film roles.
