Artist Jennifer O'Connor

Jennifer O’Connor is a rarity among singer-songwriters: She almost seems determined to not hog attention despite everything she has going for her. She plays to her strengths, putting together direct lyrics, concise melodies, and a very light touch of indie-rock flair, with a voice that goes from an aching croon to a smart-ass mumble. And, because she doesn’t appear to have a hype-seeking bone in her body, she rightfully leaves it at that.
