Joel McHale

When comedian Joel McHale added “sitcom star” to his résumé with NBC’s Community, it was a natural assumption that McHale would be leaving his post on E!’s long-running The Soup—even with Community seemingly always on the cancellation bubble. Instead, it’s only served to sharpen The Soup’s pop-culture skewering TV commentary, while also significantly raising McHale’s profile. McHale has always been an actor who steadily breaks away for TV (Robot Chicken, Pushing Daisies) and film (Spider-Man 2, The Informant!) roles, but he remains principled enough to always point out Hollywood’s fallacies. He’s unafraid to bite the hand that feeds him. Expect that same kind of grinning audacity to shine through as McHale hits the stage as a stand-up.
