Judson Claiborne
Chicago singer-songwriter Judson Claiborne—a.k.a. Chris Salveter of Chicago indie-rock act Low Skies—plays the kind of dreamy folk usually reserved in movies for long, deep scenes of quiet introspection. The serene, low-key acoustic tunes on his solo debut, Before Midnight Scholar, earned comparisons to Andrew Bird (without the bells and whistles), though Claiborne’s most telling strength lies in his storytelling—“Bloody Holiday In The Sun” recalls the crazy story of his great-grandmother refusing to die from a bullet to her head. The troubadour's sophomore effort, Time And Temperature, is due in April.
