Justice
One of the biggest breakout stories in dance music in the past few years, Justice sounds more or less exactly like Daft Punk, only younger and rawer. That explains a lot of the rapture that greeted the French duo’s noisy, bristly album on Vice Records (even if doesn’t exactly account for all the subsequent talk of a new wave of “electronica” catching on with those who still have Daft Punk records to spin). Recorded output aside, Justice is best experienced live, when the duo’s past as reconstituted rockers comes out—not to mention when big-enough speakers stand at the ready to play songs like “Waters Of Nazareth” as loud as they need to be.
