Artist Ka-Boom!Box

Madison DJ collective Ka-Boom! Box recently celebrated five years of its regular gigs the first Saturday of each month at Mickey’s Tavern. In Madison, it doesn’t seem to be that unusual for a good thing like this to just keep going (see Funky Mondays or Rock Star Gomeroke.) But it’s great to see how the reach of these eclectic crate-digging adventures has extended past the performances, even resulting in a 2007 double album of jazzy dub experiments, Homeward Into The Howling Storms. But the core of the fun is the live performances featuring founding members Robin Davies and Adam Powell, which we hope never stop. (Full disclosure: Powell regularly contributes to The A.V. Club.)
