Yearbook editors (as well as anyone who went to a high-school prom prior to 1980) will doubtless recognize some of Kansas’ lyrics: The band may have faded into relative obscurity, but the words to its two biggest hits—“Carry On Wayward Son” and the monster ballad “Dust In The Wind”—will live on in senior-class quotes forever. For many years after its late-’70s peak, the band’s lineup rotated, with key players dropping out, but the hits should sound more or less the same.
