Artist Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Kenny Wayne Shepherd was one of the hottest acts in mid-’90s contemporary blues, and he rode that wave through three albums. He then took half a decade off before recording 2004’s The Place You’re In—a rock record through and through, down to a song co-written by Kid Rock (“Spank”). 2007’s 10 Days Out: Blues From The Backroads returned Shepherd to his blues roots, recorded in a portable studio with cameos from respected longtime bluesmen, like Howlin’ Wolf’s late guitarist Hubert Sumlin and Muddy Waters’ drummer Willie “Big Eyes” Smith. Shepherd’s newest full-length, the Jerry Harrison-producedHow I Go, was released earlier this year.
