Kings Of Leon’s whiskey-soaked Southern rock has steadily progressed from fleeting indie stardom to Grammy-winning mainstream acclaim. Because Of The Times, the band’s 2007 larger-than-life third album, propelled the Nashville quartet—composed of three brothers and a cousin—into a new strata of success, but it was last year’s Only By The Night, an explosively decadent tribute to classic rock and epic experimentalism, that marked Kings Of Leon’s entry into musical maturity.
