Artist Kottonmouth Kings

One thing’s for sure: Orange County stoner-rappers Kottonmouth Kings didn’t achieve their enviably consistent popularity by screwing around with their formula. To say the group has a one-track mind would be an understatement: Its albums deal almost exclusively with the joys of getting baked. Take songs mentioning pot out of the setlist, and Kottonmouth Kings concerts would probably consist of the band staring silently at the audience for 90 minutes. Recent works have shelved some of the band’s hyperactivity in favor of a more chill mood, an indication that its members may have been smoking some kinder bud. The group’s latest release is the 2011 mix-tape Hidden Stash V: Bongloads & B-Sides.
