Kurt Braunohler

Kurt Braunohler is best recognized from his work with comedy partner Kristen Schaal, and the duo’s gawky energy and skewed whimsy carries over into his solo work. Gifted with the ability to take a joke way too far—before making it funny again—Braunohler’s stand-up coats wildly inappropriate subject matter in a wide-eyed enthusiasm bordering on feigned naïveté. At the end of the set, you’ll either want to give him a hug or slug him in the face—reactions befitting the mastermind behind the gleefully stupid street theater project Chengwin.
