Ladytron

Many of the names that popped up during electroclash’s short-lived heyday have, thankfully, disappeared into the ether, but Ladytron continues to thrive nearly a decade after forming. Perfectly mixing and matching dance music with fairly straightforward pop songs, the Liverpool quartet has found itself comfortably living in a few different worlds, including the one that followed Nine Inch Nails around Europe on tour as well as the one that remixes rock bands like Gang Of Four and Bloc Party. Recently, the band’s been churning out a flurry of releases, between the slightly premature greatest hits comp, Best Of 00-10, a remix disc, Best Of Remixes, and a fifth studio album, Gravity The Seducer, all of which fall into Ladytron’s firmly established framework of chilly but hooky baroque-pop.
