Artist L'âges Des Ténèbres (Days Of Darkness)
Trapped in a comfortable hell that might as well come complete with a forced regimen of sedatives, the homely civil servant (Marc Labreche) of Denys Arcand's 2007 black comedy Days Of Darkness immerses himself more and more deeply into a series of wild daydreams in which he becomes something of a badass. Almost as if there's not enough going on in his real-life to justify his presence there, Labreche becomes enveloped in the fantasies about bagging a movie star (Diane Kruger) and getting swept up in lavish musical numbers that include Rufus Wainwright, among other things. But in a cruel twist, his frustrations and limitations follow him into this imaginary life.
