Larry And His Flask
All six members of the Oregon band Larry And His Flask (none actually named Larry) would probably admit that the band focused too much on the “flask” part in the early years. The group, formed by brothers Jamin and Jesse Marshall in 2003, went for hardcore party punk and forgot about actually playing music, according to its website. In 2008, the band went acoustic and picked up a twangy bluegrass sound, while maintaining some of its punk influences. Since then, seemingly everything has gone right for the band—including opening for and touring with the Dropkick Murphys, and playing the 2011 Warped Tour. In July, Larry And His Flask released All That We Know, the band’s first full-length album since its stylistic change.
