Austin's Legs Against Arms doesn't just share a taste for prepositional phrases with Explosions In The Sky and Death Cab For Cutie. The band's mannered, atmospheric take on indie rock owes equally to both of those popular acts, with the occasional detour into thundering, EITS-esque effects-pedal storms and a melodic melancholy seemingly derived from Death Cab's early Barsuk Records output. More than just a collection of influences, Legs Against Arms also harbors some serious musical ambition, with all four of its members handling multiple instruments within the band's lushly layered, semi-orchestral sweep. A few more records like its debut EP, Come On Let's Disappear, and the band could have something else in common with those aforementioned bands: a devoted following.
