Artist Lissie

Lissie is a folk-rock singer-songwriter from Illinois with a stirringly straightforward sound and a voice that couldn’t be more direct. Her singing is refreshingly non-cloying, with a leaning toward the likes of Judee Sill and Rickie Lee Jones, which makes her an excellent fit for Fat Possum, the beloved Mississippi indie label that’s behind everything from R.L. Burnside to Wavves. Her studio debut, last year’s well-regarded Catching A Tiger, dips into everything from desert-blown country-rock to haunting girl-group soul.
