Little Feat
Little Feat hasn’t really been Little Feat since frontman Lowell George died in 1979. But the “Dixie Chicken” hit-makers have trouped on, touring at a steady clip since their 1987 reunion. What was a once a B-grade boogie band has since become something of a jam act, with congas and bass grooves trumping the original blues-based rock. The group’s only remaining original member is Bill Payne, who’s considered one of rock ’n’ roll’s preeminent keyboardists. Nostalgia-hungry baby boomers will dig on the vibes of Little Feat, a band that’s remembered as a poor man’s Doobie Brothers more than anything else.
