There must be an agreement among the members of The Strokes that all side projects feature lead singers with voices similar to Julian Casablancas’. Whether on Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.’s well-received solo efforts, with him on vocals, or the new Little Joy outing by drummer Fabrizio Moretti, it’s clear there’s a genuine love for the drawling, rough-edged leadman sound. Little Joy features Rodrigo Amarante on vocals and Binki Shapiro on guitar, all three whipping up a folky, reggae-tinged ditties that recall lazy days on a sandy beach.
