Los Campesinos!

Los Campesinos! have developed a distinctive style: a wry dissection of the social customs of the young and hip set to loud, sloppily orchestrated guitar-pop. Their 2010 full-length, Romance Is Boring, attacked on multiple fronts, from arguing for meaningless sex over pointless navel-gazing (“I think we need more post-coital and less post-rock”) to acknowledging that no matter how bad individual heartbreak feels, it likely wouldn’t crack the world’s All-Time Top 100. The group’s latest LP, Hello Sadness, trends toward the gloomy, presumably due to frontman Gareth Campesinos’ real-life romantic woes.
