Artist Lost Shepherds

Lost Shepherds seem at their best when they embrace the exuberant and dreamy. The Twin Cities group puts together delicate arrangements built around evocative and carefully executed musicianship, bolstered by the heart-on-sleeve lyrics and bedroom tenor of singer Eben Stine. The operation works: On the softer tracks, Lost Shepherds play what sounds like make-out music (there ain’t nothing wrong with that), and when it ripples wider and orchestral it can become grandiose, almost cinematic in scope. The group ties all of this together nicely, timing arrangements to breathe and sway so that the soft and somber plays well with the open and ethereal—the bitter with the sweet.
