Artist Lubriphonic

Lubriphonic is a sextet of some of Chicago’s finest blues sidesmen and has churned and burned through over 150 shows last year alone on the back of its latest record, The Gig Is On. Clearly not selling the kind of blues to bum you out, The Gig starts out on a hyperactive note with the rolling thunder of “Rhino” and only slows down to stir in some swagger, as on “Pimp Limp.” If concertgoers get a version of “Whiskey & Chicken Wings” close to the smoothed-out take on this year’s Live In New Orleans album, it’ll be tough not to get into the groove.
