Madina Lake
A year ago, local emo rockers Madina Lake almost lost their bassist when he was attacked after attempting to intervene during a domestic assault. Matthew Leone had to get a chunk of his skull carved out and nearly drowned in an intimidating pool of unpaid of medical bills. But now, in true rock ’n’ roll fashion, Leone’s back for the attack with the rest of the band. Named after a fictional Midwest town created by members of the band, Madina Lake was conceived by Matthew and his brother Nathan as a meditation on the current state of celebrity. The band’s new record, World War III, features a track produced and written by Billy Corgan, one of many people who helped raise money for Leone.
