Many Arms

Philadelphia’s Many Arms gestated in a music scene that embraces the technical absorption of jazz alongside the liberated craziness of punk, noise, and indie rock. Guitarist Nick Milevoi somehow finds a melodic path into drummer Ricardo Lagomasino’s tricky and at times maddening syncopations, and their live set thrives on shifts between wandering noodles and blistering outbursts. Those interested can get a preview; they recently put out a live album recorded at the First Unitarian Church, where they opened for Tera Melos and Marnie Stern.
