Margaret Cho

Margaret Cho has seen her fair share of ups and downs. Her biggest downs happened around the short-lived mid-’90s TV show All American Girl, but it’s been mostly ups since then: Her résumé is packed with celebrated one-woman shows, books, concert films, an upcoming appearance on Dancing With The Stars, and The Sensuous Woman, a variety show with Cho as its emcee/ringleader. An air of bawdy theatricality carries over from that project to Cho’s new album Cho Dependent, where she purrs over a number of frank, comedic songs featuring the likes of Tegan And Sara, Andrew Bird, and Fiona Apple. The comedian punctuates Cho Dependent selections like “Eat Shit And Die” with other off-color observations.
