Matt Nathanson

Singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson had a great couple of years living off of 2007’s Some Mad Hope, his sixth studio album and first for Vanguard Records. Upon its release, Some Mad Hope seemed like it might just be another well-crafted soft-rock record enjoyed predominantly by his hardcore followers, but with the assistance of the sexually charged “Come On Get Higher”—which you may have seen him play on Letterman and Ellen—Nathanson’s name is inching ever closer to household status. His 2011 follow-up, Modern Love, got a similar boost from the horn-fueled bounce of single “Faster.”
