The Midwest’s most unruly son aptly titled his latest book Here Comes Trouble, a raucous and havoc-wreaking account of how Michael Moore became Michael Moore. It all began in Flint, Michigan, where the best-selling author and Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker started a teen crisis center, got kicked out of the seminary, and told off an all-white members-only club. For all the boisterous energy in Moore’s pseudo-memoir, it still reads a lot like boasting (which he admits in the foreword has been somewhat embellished). The only thing it seems he didn’t do during those formative years, described with messianic weightiness, is take a dose of humility.
