A.V. Club: Best of the Decade

Artist Moby

  • Evan Agostini

Moby has flitted through so many styles and moods in the past few years that it's hard to figure which one of them is his default mode. Is he, at heart, a rave DJ? A gospel resurrector? A Mission Of Burma-minded rocker? A melancholic with a loungey singer-songwriter yen? He's actually just all of those, and all for the better. Latter-day Moby albums have not always fared particularly well, but he always gets points for trying. His latest is Wait For Me, a collection of really moody songs fit for haunted rooms.
