Moe.

Formed more than two decades ago in upstate New York, Americana ramblers Moe. have established the kind of fevered following that acts like Phish and String Cheese Incident are famous for. While it uses some similar improvisational techniques—45-minute songs are regular occurrences both live and throughout its lengthy discography—Moe. is also known for humorous lyrical wordplay and intricate guitar melodies. Though the band’s lineup has been in constant flux since 1989, fans don’t seem to mind: Moe. still sells out multi-night engagements, headlines reputable festivals (including the upcoming Jam In The ’Dam in the Netherlands), and has even produced a couple of fans-only cruises and a 2006 winter festival where fans could ice skate while listening to their favorite bands jam out.
