Momus

Momus is a one-eyed, sex-and-language-obsessed Scottish artist who’s been selling his hyper-literate persona (if not exactly his stylistically careening music) for decades now. Beginning in London in the mid ’80s, Nick Currie, the future Momus, dropped out of school to form The Happy Family with former members of Josef K. Since then, records made as Momus have involved at least some of the following: post-modern musing, psycho-sexuality, Japan, cultural crises, time travel, and/or otherness—all within sounds that rocket wildly among styles from electro-pop to shibuya-kei to simple acoustic folk. Here, he’ll perform an enormous three-hour Momus-a-thon of musical material from the ’80s on.
