Artist Moodymann
Moodymann is one of the most enigmatic and elusive figures in dance music. He operates in Detroit, where he has fashioned a singular style of smoky, slurry house music, and a good amount of his legend owes to the fact that his records are often extremely hard to find. He also makes more-or-less pure jazz records. And sings while playing electric piano. And hums. His DJ sets tend toward old soul and disco records played with lots of between-song banter.
