Ms. Lauryn Hill
Former Fugee Lauryn Hill has released only one studio album, but she’s still an R&B and hip-hop force to be reckoned with. Her skills obviously have a lot to do with it—The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill sold millions of copies around the world and gained Hill five Grammys—but her lack of output (the only other solo release is an MTV Unplugged performance) has also ensured an untarnished legacy. The infamously hermetic Hill toured more in 2010 than the entire decade that preceded it, which—along with her decreasingly erratic behavior and the accidentally leaked single “Repercussions”—suggests a full-time return to music. To make sure you take this renewed forward momentum seriously, she’s appended a “Ms.” to her professional name.
