Municipal Waste
Richmond, Virginia’s Municipal Waste is one of the groups on the forefront of the thrash revival that’s been barking around the perimeters of punk for the last few years. Drawing unfiltered inspiration from the mid-’80s metal/hardcore crossover typified by Corrosion Of Conformity and D.R.I., the group also likes to set its frenzied blasts of rage to an overarching theme: 2005’s Hazardous Mutationcelebrated sci-fi and horror; 2007’s The Art Of Partying was all about the joys of getting fucked up; 2009’s Massive Aggressive has an Idi Amin-like obsession with death and destruction. The new album, The Fatal Feast, is concerned with the vices and virtues that plague humanity, including telltale titles like “Idiot Check,” “Death Tax,” and “Covered In Sick/The Barfer.”
