Legendary Chicago punk band Naked Raygun became hugely influential in the '80s for its blend of aggressive hardcore and melodic songwriting. The band broke up in the early ’90s and remained inactive for most of the next 15 years, though infrequent reunions and reissues kept sparking rumors of a more permanent return. That finally happened in 2006 for Chicago’s Riot Fest, which brought back the lineup from 1990’s Raygun … Naked Raygun—including founding vocalist Jeff Pezzati (but not, alas, guitarist John Haggerty). There are plans to record a series of 7-inch singles as well as another full-length record, so expect some new material mixed in with the hits from the group’s seven excellent studio albums.
