The electro-funk outfit N.A.S.A. teams Spike Jonze’s brother Sam Spiegel, a.k.a. DJ Squeak E. Clean, with Brazilian DJ Zegon, but the collaborations don’t come anywhere near stopping after that. Their new The Spirit Of Apollo is bursting with an insane number of guest stars, including Kanye West, Chuck D, Method Man, and David Byrne, not to mention pairings like Tom Waits with Kool Keith and Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with a posthumous Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Musically, it bridges all gaps, meat-grinding dancehall, gritty soul, favela funk, and electro-rap into an organic collection of club-ready bangers.
