Over the last few years, Nick Kroll has racked up an impressive résumé of comedic parts, though many of them were short-lived. He did voice work for Mitch Hurwitz’s Sit Down, Shut Up, took bit parts on Human Giant and Reno 911!, and is a frequent guest on the Comedy Death-Ray podcast as bombastic Latin radio DJ El Chupacabra. Though Kroll has mostly sailed under the radar as a supporting player, all that work is starting to pay off. He was named one of Variety’s “10 comics to watch” for 2009, largely due to his rambunctious, character-based stand-up, and his role on FX’s The League, now hitting its stride in its second season. Kroll is finding roles that allow his breezy, cerebral comedy to come through in spades.
