Ninjasonik

Bouncers of the world, consider the hook of the new Ninjasonik single, “Mosh Pit”—which plainly states “Jump in a mosh pit / Break ya neck”—as a warning. Also consider the Brooklyn art-hop duo’s history of rambunctious shows that get shut down three songs into the set. Like an un-politicized Das Racist, Ninjasonik trades in hollowed-out boom-bap and obtuse lyrical observations about life in the scene, hence past tracks “Art School Girls” and “Tight Pants.” What the band lacks in Dadaist, “Combination Pizza Hut And Taco Bell” wit, it more than makes up for with those wild, “we don’t give a fuck” performances, some of which are bound to be immortalized on the forthcoming Peter Pan Syndrome.
