Nurses’ latest record is called Dracula (Dead Oceans), which is a bit misleading—“macabre” wouldn’t be on the Family Feud answer board of adjectives to describe the Portland, Oregon trio. Nurses’ single “Fever Dreams” will get even an indie queen’s faux-uninterested boyfriend’s feet tapping. And “Trying To Reach You” is endearingly optimistic pop at its most unabashed. The group’s breezy, melodic sound is a worthy soundtrack to all those pretty sights of fall none of us really care about. Catch the group now, and look cool before one of these songs is featured on a sitcom early next year.
