Artist Office Space

  • office space

In a market driven by opening weekends, there was no place in 1999 for Mike Judge’s delightful low-key comedy Office Space, but time and home video have earned it a richly deserved cult reputation. Judge’s observational humor, popularized on Beavis And Butt-Head and King Of The Hill, translates smoothly into mildly cartoonish live action, full of colorful characters and bitter stabs at the modern workplace. Ron Livingston stars as the average-guy hero, an office drone who decides to stop showing up for work and instead does what he’s always wanted to do: nothing. He’s joined in sloth by a chain-restaurant waitress (Jennifer Aniston), then finds his new can’t-do attitude reaps unexpected rewards at the company.
