Artist Ólöf Arnalds
Ólöf Arnalds is an alternately delicate and devastating folk singer from Iceland with a light touch and a heavy presence. She's worked on lots of different kinds of stuff and sung in groups like Mum, but her striking album Vio Og Vio measures in as something closer to Vashti Bunyan and Joanna Newsom. That's to say: wispy, melodic, sun-speckled, and sly. Her voice is a marvel, as is her guitar-playing, which is dexterous and finger-pick-intensive.
