Overkill

Overkill

The ’80s were a good run for thrash metal, and Overkill was there at its apex. Though never quite as popular as Metallica or Megadeth, Overkill at least never fell into the teased-hair sap of the decade’s other metal luminaries. Even after several labels and lineups, Overkill has done well for itself and has maintained a fair underground following over its long career. The band has a new album, The Electric Age (its 16th overall and second for E1 Music), another solid thrash effort in the vein of 2010’s Ironbound. It’s classic Overkill—a sound three decades in the making.
