Paper Bird
Self-described maker of “joyful” music, the genre-bender Paper Bird fluxes from past to present with a combination of softened harmonies, deep trombone/upright bass, and old-timey banjo picking. The blend of bluegrass, folk, and tweeish pop, most recently showcased on 2010’s When The River Took Flight, has built a big local following in Colorado, as well as garnered the band some national attention. Its latest album is Carry On, a two-act ballet recorded live on stage with the Ballet Nouveau Colorado.
