Papercuts
Even though it’s referred to as a “band,” Papercuts is, for all intents and purposes, one man: Jason Quever. While producing artists like Beach House and Cass McCombs at his home studio in San Francisco, Quever has recorded and released music of his own since 2004. After releasing three albums—and contributing a cover of Don Henley’s “Boys Of Summer” for the American Laundromat tribute disc, Sing Me To Sleep—Papercuts has signed with indie powerhouse Sub Pop and released a fourth album, Fading Parade. Blanketed by atmospheric guitars and airy vocals, Fading Parade is a dreamy folk pop album filled with warmth and grace, full of expansive arrangements which belie Quever’s solitary methods.
