Party Girl

Parker Posey stars in this 1995 art-house comedy, which, incidentally, was released the same summer as Clueless. And although Party Girl also centers on a young, restless drama queen and her convenient misadventures/coming-of-age life lessons, it never quite reached the same success as its blonde contemporary did. But the film certainly wasn’t a failure: It was yet another well-received indie for Posey, and her role as a hip, twentysomething raver-cum-librarian undoubtedly made her an adored figure among Dewey Decimal followers and the like.
