Paul Simon
What can be said about Paul Simon? The man is responsible for two of the most acclaimed pop records of the last 50 years with 1970’s Bridge Over Troubled Water (as Simon & Garfunkel) and 1986’s Graceland (solo). The latter was groundbreaking in its universalism, pioneering the worldbeat sound to which current faves Vampire Weekend pay homage. Simon—unlike some of his ’60s contemporaries—is still creatively viable; his recent LP So Beautiful Or So What garnered loads of critical praise.
