Peanut Butter Wolf

Producer Peanut Butter Wolf seems to approach his beats and his Stones Throw label with the same sensibility, keeping one foot in sturdy funk and soul sounds but leaving room for experimentation. PBW's mix releases over the years thrive on that open-eared approach, keeping it classy while letting in plenty of hard rock, dub, '80s rap, and whatever else suits his fancy. Just as importantly, his label has played host to such underground rap staples as Madlib and Jay Dee.
