Peter Murphy

Following a pair of Bauhaus reunions that lasted long enough to produce 2008’s Go Away White, it sort of feels like the late ’80s/early ’90s again, what with Love And Rockets reunited and Peter Murphy focused on his solo career. It’s been a long time since Murphy has done anything of note on his own—his biggest hits, “Cuts You Up” and a slick yet nervy version of Pere Ubu’s “Final Solution,” are more than 20 years old—but his position as one of goth’s grandest figures means he has a built-in audience for life. Murphy’s ninth solo album, aptly titled Ninth, was released this summer, and features the long-unreleased closing track, “Crème De La Crème.”
