Artist Peter Yarrow

  • Peter Yarrow

Peter Yarrow of ’60s folk group Peter, Paul And Mary will always be best known for the fanciful, apocryphally drug-related hit “Puff, The Magic Dragon,” so it was wise of him to, ahem, pass that song’s imagery to the less-ripe-for-misinterpretation field of children’s books in 2007. He followed up the illustrated adaptation of "Puff" with 2009’s Day Is Done, in which “animal and human parents everywhere tenderly tuck their children into bed.” This year’s Songs For Little Folks is a songbook that comes with an accompanying album of classic kids’ tunes like “Polly Wolly Doodle” and “A-Tisket, A-Tasket.”
