Pink Nasty
Like her name implies, the music of Pink Nasty is equal parts gross-out, adolescent tittering (“Sex Kinda Smells”) and secretly sweet romantic pining (“Nag Nag Nag”). Though she received the most ink for her collaboration with Bonnie “Prince” Billy on 2006’s Mold The Gold, the entire album was solid, and she followed that up with last year’s self-titled record, a fine slice of Pavement-flavored pop with Nasty’s trademark humor in spades. Since then, she put out an out-takes album with demos and covers on her website for free, which also includes teasers for a new album.
