Pitbull

Pitbull, rapper

Surviving the great reggaeton outbreak of the early 2000s, the Miami-based, Cuba-repping Pitbull has proved more radio-friendly than many of his past contenders. (Remember Daddy Yankee? Neither do we.) While previous albums featuring collaborations with the likes of Trina and Ying Yang Twins made Pitbull a viable name in the rap game, his 2009 release, Rebelution, made him a breakout solo star. Besides, who can resist a man who claims, “I’m the plumber tonight / I'll check your pipes / Oh, you the healthy type / Here go some egg whites”? Pitbull expanded his international clout with his first Spanish-language LP, Armando, in 2010 and received his highest chart listings in the States with last year’s Planet Pit, in English.
