Artist Pop Evil

Falling somewhere between Hinder and Drowning Pool, radio rock five-piece Pop Evil sounds exactly like one would except: processed pop-metal that combines predictable breakdowns with color-by-numbers lyricism. The Muskegon, Michigan-based band has been at it since 2001, with its sophomore LP War Of Angels debuting at No. 43 on the Billboard 200 after its July release. Metalholic Magazine gave the album a rave review, warning, “if you experience an aural erection lasting longer than 4 hours, count yourself lucky and crank it up.” Backed by Universal Records, Pop Evil’s brand of macho-yet-sensitive guy rock should appeal to the wallet chain-sporting, 93X-listening sect.
